SBRI is excited to announce a State Ballet premiere, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, a ballet in two acts with the music of Joseph Horovitz. SBRI’s five resident choreographers take on a large-scale collaboration along with Herci Marsden, the company’s artistic director. This performance takes place on March 23rd & 24th at the beautiful Park Theatre in Cranston, RI. Follow Alice as she escapes through her dreams to a magical adventure in a fantasy land populated by several peculiar creatures, such as a loveable White Rabbit, a grumpy Caterpillar, the Queen of Hearts, the Cheshire Cat, dancing flamingos, butterflies and more. Under the artistic direction of the late Sir Anton Dolin, Alice in Wonderland was first presented in 1953 at Royal Festival Hall, London.
Sir Anton Dolin was The State Ballet of Rhode Island’s artistic advisor from 1960
Sir Anton Dolin was a close family friend to The Marsden Family as well as godfather to the Marsden children.
